At Focused Laser Systems we provide, service and maintain a wide range of co2 laser machines around the UK. To give you insight into how our customers are using their co2 laser machines we'd like to introduce you to Woodwork by John Phillips.
John was introduced to woodwork at an early age by his engineering father who helped him to setup his first workshop containing little more than a lathe. Spending many hours working on and dreaming of selling his craft has contributed massively to his woodworking adventure.
The experience John has gained have combined to help him pursue his dream to create smaller, creative and functional pieces. He mostly works with simple shapes and curves and utilises the timbers natural elements to allow him to create a tactile, functional and creative product.
John has a 900mm x 600mm Co2 laser machine which he uses to provide a variety of services to personalise and brand his own products but also cut and engrave products provided by the customer.
Offering engraved wooden items
Bespoke Items for that special occasion, such as weddings, anniversaries and birthdays that can also be designed on request. This can be simple text or art work generated in house or work with your own files.
Laser cut letters, numbers & shapes
He can cut any computer generated font (subject to copyright). This can be 3-5mm acrylic or 3mm Birch plywood. Also shapes from vector generated art work again (subject to copyright laws)
Slate, felt, leather, paper and card
At Woodwork they can cut or engrave many different materials. While they can’t supply these materials, they will be happy to engrave or cut most items that you can provide.
Servicing Woodworks Co2 Laser
New Co2 Reci Laser Tube
We provided Johns co2 laser with one of the new reci glass laser tubes. Reci Lasers are the only company in China, who uses high-tech equipment and the latest advanced technologies in the production of CO2 laser tubes. The average lifetime of Reci laser tube is about 8000 hours under the proper operating conditions. Think it could be time for a new co2 laser?
Are you finding you’re having to increase the amount of power you use to cut materials?
Once it hits around 65% of the Rated Power (the actual percentage depends on your application and throughput) it's time to start planning for a replacement. It's not unheard of to have tubes lasting 2 years or more, but they will eventually fail and usually at the most awkward time.
New Co2 Ruida Control Panel
Ruida RDC6442G system is a new generation system for 4-Axis control of laser engraving and cutting.
Digital Laser Control Signals:
(1) TTL level output, 50 mA, Drive Capability
(2) PWM frequency 2K-50K for adjustable
(3) PWM duty ratio is 1% ~ 99%, adjustable
(4) PWM value is up to 5.0 V
